Print-ready files

Not sure about any of this? Send what you have. We check every file by hand and tell you if something needs changing before we print.

The basics

Three things to get right

3 mm

Bleed

Extend backgrounds 3 mm past the trim edge so there are no white slivers after cutting.

300 dpi

Resolution

At full print size. Large posters and wall graphics viewed from a distance can go down to 150 dpi.

CMYK

Colour

Print uses CMYK inks. Bright RGB colours from a screen can look slightly duller on paper.

Files

What to send

Best: a PDF, with fonts embedded or converted to outlines. This is what most design apps call "Press quality" or "PDF/X".

Also fine: high-resolution PNG, JPG or TIFF, or the original AI, PSD, EPS or SVG file.

Made it in Canva? Download it as "PDF Print" and tick "Crop marks and bleed".

Phone photos usually print well up to A3. For bigger prints, send the original photo, not a screenshot or one sent through WhatsApp, which shrinks it.

Product tips

Posters

Keep important text at least 5 mm inside the trim edge. Set the document to the exact poster size plus 3 mm bleed on every side.

Stickers

For die-cut stickers, we cut around the shape of your design. Leave a little space around it, or draw the cut line on its own layer named "Cutline".

Wall graphics

Send your exact wall or window measurements. Large-format artwork can be 100–150 dpi at full size, as it is viewed from a distance.

Signs

Use big, high-contrast text for signs read from afar. Mark any drill holes or fixings in the notes so we can keep text clear of them.
